The Wool Comforter and Pillow Set contains all-season wool bedding filled with Climate Beneficial Wool covered in 100% organic cotton fabric. There is nothing like sleeping under wool! Wool’s natural fibers provide moisture-wicking and temperature-regulation properties for better sleep. Wool bedding also repels dust mites and other allergens for hypoallergenic benefits.

The wool comforter is filled with batting that's hand-knotted about every nine inches and is perfect as a duvet, comforter cover, or on its own. Batting is a layer, or sheet, of wool that provides a stable filling that doesn't move inside the comforter.

Our wool pillow compresses 1/3 of its original loft when in use to offer improved sleep with firm support paired with gentle cushioning. Wool’s ability to regulate your body temperature keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter for better sleep every night.

The Benefits of Wool

Temperature Regulating

From bitter cold to tropic heat, wool is a natural insulator and regulates your body temperature. The tiny pockets within the wool become adjust to your body temperature and allow air to circulate. This allows the wool bedding set to provide you with the perfect night's sleep.

Pure & Sustainable

Wool is a 100% renewable resource. Each year, sheep are sheared for their wool - a necessary and important part of ranching. Rest assured, the sheep that grow your wool are still happily grazing California meadows.

Healthy & Clean

Frankenmuth Woolen Mill bedding is great for sufferers of fibromyalgia and arthritis because wool is a supportive bedding that distributes weight evenly. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic, repels dust mites, and wicks moisture for better sleep.

Wool Sourcing

Our commitment to quality and great sleep starts with the wool. We scoured the country to find ranchers who not only treat their sheep humanely but also share in our passion for providing materials and products that are made in the USA.

Natural Processing

Once the wool arrives at the Mill, it is processed traditionally using our century-old machinery. It's hand washed in bathtubs using 180-degree water and dried for 3 - 5 days, depending on the time of year. After the wool is dried, it is taken to our carding room, where it’s combed and processed on 100-year-old equipment using no chemicals or oils.

After the wool is processed, it's taken to our finishing area, where 100% certified organic cotton fabric and wool are stretched over wooden frames and hand-tied in the old European fashion. Tying holds the wool in place and keeps it secure so it doesn't move around inside. After the Wool Filled Comforter is tied, the edges are sewn, and it's ready for sale.

At each step through the Mill, there is great attention to detail so that each wool bedding set we produce is delivered to our high standards.

Sleep Matters

Sleep is the time that your body refreshes and rejuvenates itself, so having the right bedding is key. Since the average adult spends just 6.5 hours sleeping at night, the quality of such little sleep time is imperative. In addition, wool is a natural insulator, eliminating hot and cold spots that cause restless sleep.
